Most babies start learning to crawl when they're between 7 and 10 months old, but it's wise to start baby-proofing your home long before then. Some parents even opt to put all the necessary safety features in place before their child is born, as things can get a little hectic once they've arrived.

Even if you live in a home without stairs, safety gates are an excellent way to limit your child's access to areas that could be dangerous, giving them room to explore within safe parameters. 6. Door Knob Covers
Your little one could be attempting to open doors to closed off rooms sooner than you think, and door knob covers are a great way to thwart their efforts.
Whether there's a room that's unsafe or just a space that you want to keep child-free, door knob covers will ensure that it stays off-limits. This simple plastic device fits standard door knobs and requires you to reach through the holes in the cover and squeeze firmly to open the door.
